I keep meeting amazing people.
The last amazing person I met was on Thursday at the writing group in Limavady when we had a visiting author who I’d emailed with the request to come and inspire some writers in Limavady. The author did as requested. This visit was from someone who just doesn’t restrict her writing to only writing books. She’s the 1st female columnist in the Derry Journal, she blogs, she tweets and she encourages people like me to consider using the word ‘fecking’ in my writing. This author, this amazing person is the one and only Claire Allan. There is a ‘Claire Allen’ who’s also an author who hasn’t had the privelege of meeting me yet.
What I found really amazing about Claire is her obvious love of writing. How she likes to get lost in writing a story. The relationships she has with her characters and how she seems to live and breath her stories. The stories also seem to be written to help, even with issues like post natal depression. I haven’t suffered from that and I’ve also to admit that I haven’t actually ever read one of Claire’s books yet.Another amazing thing about Claire is because of her visit I shall start reading what they call ‘chick lit’ as that’s the genre under which Claire writes. Her latest book entitled Jumping In Puddles is available to pre-order on Amazon. The question is should I pre-order or wait and get a signed copy in September?
